Rapper and poet J Carlyle mixes genres with 'Intruder Alert'

Having already garnered praise from BBC Radio and GRM Daily, J Carlyle mixes Reggae, R&B and dancehall styles with and Old School Dub beat with ‘Intruder Alert’ which dropped on February 5th.

With a basic melody of keys providing a backbone throughout the song, J Carlyle opts for a high-pitched, light singing approach, not unlike the vocals heard on charts in the early 2000s. Combined with a funky beat, endearing ad-libs and a chorus hook which throws listers into a sway of melodic R&B, ‘Intruder Alert’ is the perfect club song and is only to be played full volume when dancing the night away.

Building on the debut success of his 2020 EP ‘Calculating The Iffs’, J Carlyle has wasted no time in lockdown. Considering that his previous single was also produced by industry frontrunner Mantra, the man behind tracks from Future and Rihanna, it’s evident that the artist is destined for greatness.
