Hey readers of new music platform, I have something pretty cool to carry you into the weekend! When I first heard of this epic cover I was instantly gripped to find out more.
Sometimes things that aren’t meant to go together just do. Like pineapple on pizza or intergalactic rock and soul classics and that’s exactly what Weak13 have done with their amazing cover of the timeless ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay’.
Blending their own unique style of intergalactic rock, which epic riffs and spacey sci-fi infused sounds. Weak13 have re-imagined this classic track to make it their own. I definitely think it was a risk to take such a well known song and make such dramatic changes but the risk definitely paid off.
I’m not the only one who admires the band’s bold move as the single and its accompanying video have taken the world (and beyond) by storm. Wracking up over 153,000 views independent of any major label backing.
Only time will tell if this cover we’ll stand the test of time, however, I’m pretty confident that it will and that Weak13 are well on their way to becoming huge, just as huge as their influences Weezer, Soundgarden and Korn. I’m definitely going to be following this band for their epic ride and I know that after listening to this cover you’ll be joining me.
