Our album of the week is an EP this time round and it’s a titillating one for sure. Courtesy of L.A. based collective label TAR comes CRONOS by Loyalty XIX.
An explosion of intense industrial electronic music, it demands immediate attention with the monstrous ARMAROS. With a hint of an Arca influence at times, CRONOS is much less spacey and much more rough and tough, with an earthy grit instilling moments of suspense, fear and even horror. Without a single dull moment to be found in this 3 track set, it finishes with a booming voice announcing “Time to die” on the trance-sprinkled EXECUTION. Cronos, being leader of the Titan gods in Greek mythology, it is a fitting title for such a mighty body of work.
