Fans of jazz! Ido Spak has the album for you. With melodic piano and fantastic brass sections, Ido Spak the Jazz Traveller is giving any listener the guarantee of classic jazz tones with a unique blend of his own inspirations – taking notes from artists from Syria, Iran and Kurdistan, it’s safe to assume that this album has had a plethora of knowledge and experience put into it.
Released on September 3rd, ‘Epidemic Adventures’ is a 10 track album that is jam-packed with music of the highest quality, formed by Spak’s original ideas and sound. Fantastic piano accompanied wonderfully by drums and brass section, each song on the album has it’s own feel different to the last, while also sounding just as good. With quality that’s hard to deny, it’s the album to excite anyone who is new to jazz, or who is already an avid listener.
The lead singles off of this album give the best introduction to what this album will bring. ‘Endless Summer’ for example, is a song that goes in directions that you would not expect – starting off with a piano repetition and brass instruments, almost in a type of controlled chaos, it breaks down into a fantastic melody with clean and smooth brass sections that carry on throughout without missing a step; it’s a strong single for what is looking to be a strong album release from Ido Spak. And it doesn’t stop there – the other singles, ‘Also Hoy Memo’ and ‘Ashorer Shira’ are fantastic for their mastery with the change in pace, creating engaging songs that leave you admiring the skill behind them.
The album itself is not too dissimilar to the singles in that it’s clear that the music is made by someone who is supremely talented and is capable of using tempo and style to his benefit. Interesting and stacked with great songs, ‘Epidemic Adventures’ is not to be missed! Having already been released on earlier this month on September 3rd, it’d be a mistake not to seek it out!
